When our senior citizens look and see what is going on in our country, they have different views of all things. But one of the things they agree on is that when they were children, it was so different. What was so different?

During their childhood there was less crime and violence. People in the neighbourhood knew each other and supported each other. Children were respectful towards elderly people. Children respected their school teachers and saw them as role models. Food was cheap although for the poor it was still tough.

What has changed? The times have changed but we as people make things change. I believe the greatest influence of our time is the hearts of men. Matthew 12:35 “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.”

You see evil comes from the heart of a person. Good also comes from the heart of a person. So if we want to see great changes in our neighbourhoods, cities and country, we must see the hearts of people change.

Unfortunately no person can change the heart of a person. Only God the Father can do that. The Father sent His Son Jesus to bring a change in the world. The change only becomes effective if the person will go to Jesus to be changed. That is our only hope and chance to see change. Change must be in the hearts of all South Africans. We need to pray for this change. Yes we must remember, change can only be done supernaturally by Jesus.
